Flexing the legs in transition is a hallmark of PMTS technique. Coordinating bending your legs with the edge change allows momentum to help you start your new turn – this is smooth, efficient, and it helps you get to higher edge angles early in the turn. The “Poles Across the Knees” approach developed in this video helps you learn the movement and the timing of this flexion. It also incorporates a change of counterbalance as you change edges, and it helps you to counteract with the torso throughout the arc of each turn.
