Overview
The Short Turn Camp has been a real hit with our skiers. If you've read Anyone Can Be An Expert Skier 2, you know that a bulletproof short turn is the key to all-mountain skiing. Whether you aspire to ski narrow slopes, steeps, moguls, powder, or ice, we'll help you learn a short turn that will enable you to ski all those conditions with control and confidence. Start your season with a new capability to venture further on the mountain. You must be comfortable on western blue and black groomed slopes to attend.
An assessment of your alignment is part of the camp. The on-snow balance assessment will take place during the lesson hours. Any skiers who are interested in our full indoor alignment assessment must come to our Dumont shop prior to the on-snow days. Any participants wishing to make changes to their equipment as a result of the assessment will be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis outside of the lesson hours.
Most time will be spent on groomed terrain. The lessons will focus on efficient technique, with sufficient practice time and personal feedback. Video analysis will be used to help you improve. There will be a maximum of four skiers per group to ensure significant personal attention. Includes 3 hours of instruction each day.
Boots, Footbeds, and Alignment "pre-day"
If you know that you would like to get new boots, have footbeds made, or if you would like the complete indoor alignment assessment, you will need to come to our shop prior to the camp. This gives us more time to finalize your fit and alignment. Indoor alignment sessions for campers are offered at our Dumont Ski Shop on the days prior to camp. Contact us for more information and to make an appointment.

Travel & Lodging Information
Arapahoe Basin is one of the select few Colorado resorts that offer superior early-season conditions. We should have good skiing on a variety of groomed runs.
Arapahoe Basin ("A-Basin") ski area is located about 70 miles west of Denver International Airport on US Highway 6. There is no lodging at A-Basin. Most campers stay in Summit County—Silverthorne, Frisco, Dillon—about a 15 minute drive west of A-Basin. Summit County offers a large array of dining and lodging choices, and is located along Interstate 70. See A-Basin's web site for more information about lodging options, driving directions, etc.
