Overview
The Direct Parallel eVideo series shows how to teach a first-time skier using PMTS Direct Parallel technique. All the Direct Parallel videos are dual-purpose, suitable for teaching yourself or others.
In this third video of the three-part series, you'll learn how to approach the fall line progressively until you can make stepping turns downhill on a very gentle slope.

Content
*On a very gentle slope, sidestep uphill, then use fan steps to release, slide, and engage, coming to a stop
*Use the bullfighter turn (from video 2) to face the other direction on the slope
*Gradually release to a steeper angle downhill, while continuing to use engaging steps to stop
*Make a single full turn in each direction
*Link turns downhill

Purpose
*Use tipping and stepping to make turns
*Learn to control your approach to the fall line
*Learn how to link turns

Prerequisites
In order to get the most benefit from this video, you should already (at a minimum)...
*Have properly-fitted skis, boots, and poles
*Your practice slope should be less than 10 degrees pitch (very gentle) and should flatten out into a flat area
*Have practiced all the activities in the video Direct Parallel 1 until you can do them correctly, with confidence
*Have practiced all the activities in the video Direct Parallel 2 and be able to step uphill to a stop in both directions as at the end of video 2
