Activity: Single Turn, Stepping
What you practice: Transfer of balance & Tipping of inside foot toward little-toe edge
- Flat, broad terrain (or gentle hill if you can comfortably stop on it)
- Skate to a comfortable speed
- Slide on two feet in a straight line
- Step first with inside foot (here, her left); take a small step in direction of turning, placing foot back down on its little-toe edge
- Step outside foot (here, her right) back next to inside foot
- Step again with inside foot onto little-toe edge
- Step with outside foot next to inside foot
- Repeat stepping until you stop
- Take many small steps with little displacement or divergence of the inside foot
