Activity: Straight Run, Alternate Lifting
What you practice: Stance foot balance & Transfer of balance
- Flat terrain
- Skate to a comfortable speed
- Lift one foot a few inches off the ground, glide straight on the stance foot
- Set foot down, lift other foot, glide straight on new stance foot
- Continue to switch feet
- Keeping free foot close to stance foot helps balance on stance foot
- With practice, make each glide last longer
