Activity: Linked Turns on Inside Foot
What you practice: Balance on little-toe edge; Stronger tipping toward little-toe edge
- Gentle hill
- Skate to comfortable speed, glide straight downhill on both feet
- Lift outside foot (here, her right)
- Tip stance foot (here, her left) toward its little-toe edge and tip free foot (her right) toward its big-toe edge to make a turn
- Switch stance foot gently
- To turn in the new direction, tip the new stance foot toward its little-toe edge and tip the lifted, free foot toward its big-toe edge
- Repeat to link turns
- Keep the feet close together and the arms spread apart
