PMTS Direct Parallel® Short Turn & Mogul Camp at Arapahoe Basin, CO
Note: This session is reserved for returning customers. If you will be skiing with us for the first time, please select a different camp session.
For many skiers, linking turns in moguls with speed control is the hallmark of expert skiing. This camp will combine technique and tactics - not only what to do, but where and when you need to do it in various moguls in order to have a smooth and controlled ride. Skiers who have less experience in moguls will refine their short turns and pole plant, while starting to apply that technique in easier moguls. More experienced mogul skiers will spend more time in camp in moguls and in larger moguls. You must be comfortable on western black (advanced) groomed slopes to attend, and you must want to spend time during camp skiing in moguls.
The camp includes three hours of lessons per day. The lessons will focus on efficient technique and tactics, with sufficient practice time and personal feedback. Video analysis will be used to help you improve.
Boots, Footbeds, and Alignment "pre-day"
If you know that you would like to get new boots, have footbeds made, or if you would like the complete indoor alignment assessment, we encourage you to come to camp at least one day early. This gives us more time to finalize your fit and alignment. Indoor alignment sessions for campers are offered at our Dumont Ski Shop on the days prior to camp. Contact us for more information.
February 24-28, 2020 (Monday-Friday)
approximately 9:00 - 12:30 each day
Lift Ticket Cost
The camp price does not include lift tickets. Arapahoe Basin has many good deals for lift tickets, including season passes. We will send you more information on purchasing your lift tickets when you enroll, or as soon as that information is available through Arapahoe Basin.
We have one social gathering during camp (Monday afternoon) where we meet for drinks and appetizers. Attendance is optional, but we encourage all to come. It's a lot of fun to meet the campers who are skiing in other groups. Dress is casual. More details will be given at camp.
Travel & Lodging Information
Arapahoe Basin is one of the select few Colorado resorts that offer superior early-season conditions. We should have good skiing on a variety of groomed runs.
Arapahoe Basin ("A-Basin") ski area is located about 70 miles west of Denver International Airport on US Highway 6. There is no lodging at A-Basin. Most campers stay in Summit County—Silverthorne, Frisco, Dillon—about a 15 minute drive west of A-Basin.
