PMTS Direct Parallel® Blue/Dark Blue Camp at Arapahoe Basin, Colorado
As an alternative, consider taking a PMTS Direct Parallel® Camp at Welch Village, MN. Welch Village has excellent snowmaking and grooming. Their instructors are PMTS accredited, and several of them work at some of our camps, so you will receive top-level instruction. Click here to read more...
This five-day ski week is designed for the intermediate to advanced-level skier looking to improve technique and develop better control and balance with PMTS Direct Parallel®. Most time will be spent on groomed terrain. The camp includes three hours of lessons per day. The lessons will focus on efficient technique, with sufficient practice time and personal feedback. Video analysis will be used to help you improve.
An assessment of your alignment is part of the camp. The on-snow balance assessment will take place during the lesson hours, while indoor assessments will take place Monday through Wednesday afternoons, outside of the lesson times. Any participants wishing to make changes to their equipment as a result of the assessment will be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis outside of the lesson hours.
There will be a maximum of six skiers per group to ensure significant personal attention.
Boots, Footbeds, and Alignment "pre-day"
If you know that you would like to get new boots, have footbeds made, or if you would like the complete indoor alignment assessment, we encourage you to come to camp at least one day early. This gives us more time to finalize your fit and alignment. Indoor alignment sessions for campers are offered at our Dumont Ski Shop on the days prior to camp. Contact us for more information.
December 12-16, 2016 (Monday-Friday)
approximately 9:00 - 12:30 each day
Lift Ticket Cost
The camp price does not include lift tickets. Arapahoe Basin has many good deals for lift tickets, including season passes. We will send you more information on purchasing your lift tickets when you enroll, or as soon as that information is available through Arapahoe Basin.
We have two social gatherings during camp (Monday and Thursday afternoons) where we meet for drinks and appetizers. Attendance is optional, but we encourage all to come. It's a lot of fun to meet the campers who are skiing in other groups. Dress is casual. More details will be given at camp.
Travel & Lodging Information
Arapahoe Basin is one of the select few Colorado resorts that offer superior early-season conditions. We should have good skiing on a variety of groomed runs.
Arapahoe Basin ("A-Basin") ski area is located about 70 miles west of Denver International Airport on US Highway 6. There is no lodging at A-Basin. Most campers stay in Summit County—Silverthorne, Frisco, Dillon—about a 15 minute drive west of A-Basin. Summit County offers a large array of dining and lodging choices, and is located along Interstate 70. See A-Basin's web site for more information about lodging options, driving directions, etc.
