PMTS Direct Parallel® Short Turn Camp at Arapahoe Basin, Colorado Session Full! Overview We introduced the Short Turn Camp last season and it was a real hit with our skiers. If you've read Anyone Can Be An Expert Skier 2, you know that a bulletproof short turn is the key to all-mountain skiing. Whether you aspire to ski narrow slopes, steeps, moguls, powder, or ice, we'll help you learn a short turn that will enable you to ski all those conditions with control and confidence. Start your season with a new capability to venture further on the mountain. You must be comfortable on western blue and black groomed slopes to attend. Most time will be spent on groomed terrain. The camp includes six hours of lessons per day. The lessons will focus on efficient technique, with sufficient practice time and personal feedback. Video analysis will be used to help you improve. There will be a maximum of six skiers per group to ensure significant personal attention. Footbed and alignment "pre-day" If you know that you would like to have footbeds made, or if you would like the complete indoor alignment assessment, we encourage you to come to camp at least one day early. Because the actual camp has full days of coaching, it is very difficult to accommodate campers who would like the complete indoor alignment session during the camp days. Indoor alignment sessions for campers are offered at our Dumont Ski Shop on the days prior to camp. Contact us for more information. Dates November 13-16, 2012 (Tuesday - Friday) Lesson Times approximately 9:00 - 3:30 each day Cost $990 Lift Ticket Cost As part of our operating agreement with Arapahoe Basin, our campers must buy group rate lift tickets. (Please do not buy lift tickets with your lodging.) If you have a season pass at A-Basin, you do not need to get the group lift tickets; please let us know when you enroll. TBD - Approx. $50/day Group Socializing We have two social gatherings during camp (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) where we meet for drinks and appetizers. Attendance is optional, but we encourage all to come. It's a lot of fun to meet the campers who are skiing in other groups. Dress is casual. More details will be given at camp. With its recent snowmaking expansion, Arapahoe Basin joins the select few Colorado resorts that offer superior early-season conditions. We should have good skiing on a variety of groomed runs. Arapahoe Basin ("A-Basin") ski area is located about 70 miles west of Denver International Airport on US Highway 6. There is no lodging at A-Basin. Most campers stay in Summit County—Silverthorne, Frisco, Dillon—about a 15 minute drive west of A-Basin. Summit County offers a large array of dining and lodging choices, and is located along Interstate 70. See A-Basin's website for more information about lodging options, driving directions, etc. We provide more lodging information once you have enrolled in the camp.
