PMTS™ Spring European Camp at Hintertux, Austria

Overview

A five-day ski week for the intermediate or better skier. Ski in Europe and improve your technique while you're there! If you've wanted to ski Europe, but have worried about language or arrangements, come with us. If you've wanted to attend a Harb Ski Camp, but haven't wanted to fly to North America, come to Austria instead. This can be the highlight of your season. Open to all our customers worldwide, instruction is in English. Includes 6 hours per day of coaching, video analysis, and on-snow alignment assessment (limited equipment modifications available). Skiers must be able to negotiate (not necessarily with style or grace) advanced terrain and ungroomed slopes to attend.

Hintertux is a fabulous glacier. Its high elevation ensures great conditions at this time of year. Snow is generally groomed frozen granular in the morning, softening to corn in the afternoon, although it is possible to have wintry weather on the glacier on any day.

Footbed and alignment "pre-day"

If you know that you would like to have footbeds made, or if you would like the complete indoor alignment assessment, we encourage you to come to camp one day early. Because the actual camp has full days of coaching, it is very difficult to accommodate campers who would like the complete indoor alignment session during the camp days. Indoor alignment sessions for campers are offered on the Sunday prior to camp. Contact us for more information, or circle the alignment pre-day option on the enrollment form.

Long-distance travellers

For any travellers with a large time difference, we strongly recommend arriving on the Saturday before camp (rather than Sunday) in order to adapt to the time change. Having an extra rest day reduces your jet lag, normalizes your sleep pattern, and makes for a better camp experience.

Dates

May 2-8, 2010 (Monday - Friday are the skiing days)

Lesson Times

approximately 9:30 - 3:30 each day

Cost

Camp cost includes lifts, coaching, lodging, breakfast and dinner daily; does not include airfare, lunches, or beverages at hotel.

Shared double room (you provide the roommate!):
€1470 (arrive Sunday, May 2)
€1550 (arrive Saturday, May 1; €80 extra)

Single room:
€1590 (arrive Sunday, May 2)
€1690 (arrive Saturday, May 1; €100 extra)

New for '09-'10... Round trip ground transport to and from Munich airport is €75 per person, and is charged separately from the camp fee. (We are charging this separately since so many campers are travelling to the hotel on their own.)

[Note: When we actually process the charge for the camp, the amount charged will be in $US and will reflect the daily exchange rate.]

Travel & Lodging Information

The camp includes ground transportation to and from the Munich airport (Germany) on Sunday, May 2 (arrive) and Saturday, May 8 (depart). Campers can arrive on Saturday, May 1 (for the footbed preday or to help adjust to the time change) for an additional €80/person (shared double) or €100/person (single). Please schedule your incoming flight to arrive by 12 (noon), and your outgoing flight to depart no earlier than 10:30 AM.

We stay at the Hintertuxerhof hotel, walking distance from the lifts. It is a four-star hotel, and the food and lodging are great. The weather at the hotel (in the valley) is generally spring-like, so hiking and tennis are possible in the afternoon.

Please investigate the travel documents (passport, visa, etc.) that you might need. You should also look into your health insurance coverage for travel to Europe.

Camp Reservations

Please read important Enrollment information. On that page you'll find links to paper enrollment forms, payment and refund information, and ways to contact us if you have questions.

Our travel to Europe has to be planned well in advance of the camp. The enrollment deadline for this camp is March 15. Please send in your forms by March 15 to be assured a place in camp. Enrollments sent after March 15 will be accepted on a space available basis.
